1/2 Cucumber

1 Lemon (with rind)

Watermelon Benefits

Watermelon is an excellent anti-inflammatory; useful for those who suffer from asthma, atherosclerosis, diabetes, colon cancer, and arthritis. Watermelon contains necessary anti-oxidants that help neutralize free radicals in our bodies. This fruit is an excellent source for vitamin A (beta-carotene) and vitamin C; scientific studies show high intake of these anti-oxidants can reduce the risk of heart disease. Watermelon has a concentrated source of lycopene, found to be a great preventative against certain cancers such as prostate cancer, breast cancer, endometrial cancer, uterus cancer, lung cancer and colorectal cancers.

Watermelon has a very high water content, roughly 92 percent. This makes watermelon a good source source of pure water. Watermelon is one of few fruits with very a low caloric content. Watermelon juice is packed with some of the most important anti-oxidants in nature, including lycopene (protects against diseases and cancer and also lowers bad cholesterol), a red carotenoid pigment that gives tomatoes, watermelon and other red fruits their red color.
