Who is Simply Straws, you ask?

A family run, reusable drinking straw company. Their missions is to help educate the public on the effects of plastic pollution. All their products are BPA Free, non toxic and safe for the environment.

Whats The Deal with Plastic?

In case you are unaware plastic contains a chemical known as bisphenol-A or BPA for short. This chemical is found in many products sold on the market, many of which may be in your homes. Studies have linked BPA to hormone disruption, increased breast and prostate cancer cell growth, and early unset puberty and obesity. These are the reasons why minimizing or eliminating plastic is critical.

Cilantro is such a game changer! It does for juicing what salt does for cooking by adding some “body” to the flavor. It’s also great for detoxing heavy metals from the body. Fav green recipe:
    2 granny smiths
    6 celery ribs
    Bunch of parsley
    Bunch of cilantro
    4 kale leaves
    Bunch of spinach
    2 cucumbers
    Wedge of cabbage
    1 lemon

Favorite? What’s that? If I can juice it, I can say I am likely to like it. Try Cucumber, kale, little celery, green apple and ginger. If it’s too strong for ya add a little fruit and off ya go. Carrot is good with apple and ginger. Yum!

    Fav Recipe:

    green kale smoothie

    2-3 leaves of kale
    1 banana
    1 cup blueberries
1 cup water or unsweetened almond milk
    ice (optional)
stevia or 1tsp maple syrup (optional)

Directions: Combine ingredients in a blender and blend well.
*Get creative by sneaking kale into your favorite smoothie recipes. Kale has a strong earthy flavor so just be sure to use a banana to disguise its presence.

    I LOOOVE these straws!

My favorite green juice recipe is off of the “sample juice fast plan”, only a bit modified for my taste:

BETTER THAN A CUP OF COFFEE JUICE:
    2 Chard Leaves
    3 Kale Leaves
    2 Bunch of Parsley
    2 Handful Baby Romaine
    2 Cucumber
1 lemon (with skin if organic)
2-3 Apples (I use Grannies and Macs)

Add Ginger and/or Turmeric (my cancer fighting buddy) to taste (usually at least 1 inch of ginger, I like kick!)

This makes for me about 1 quart, which I’ll have as my breakfast, snacks, and lunch (along with some poached chicken). I’ve dropped 15 pounds and feel amazing! My skin glows!

    xoxo abs
